I heard that the 'foiled' plot wasn't so much foiled as bungled by the US against UK wishes. The UK wanted to keep going on the surveillance to see where it led, there was apparently no immediate threat from their standpoint.

Bushies wanted, yet again for political purposes, a CODE RED CODE RED CODE RED, moment. It was a media show, nothing more.

Gas prices, the softness in housing, fear of future employment, the attack on civil liberties resembling a police state in the making, worsening news from Iraq, global warming.....where is the good news from Republican one-party rule?
