Is the current state of affairs in Iraq a screw-up or was it intentionally planned to devolve into the current state? When Bush says things are going well in Iraq, he isn't referring to what you or I would call going well. But for the bushistas, it's on track for what they planned.

If the bushistas had no qualms about killing thousands of American civilians on 9/11 do you think they would have qualms about the deaths of US military personnel or Iraqi civilians?

Remember, those closely involved in the events that have been called screw-ups have all been promoted.

The media here is more tightly controlled than that of the USSR in their heyday. No screw-up there.

Do you recall that during Katrina a sheriff caught a team of federal agents cutting communication lines down there? The sheriff gave a press conference about it and I've never seen somebody so irate in a press conference before. He posted deputies after repairing the damage to make sure it wouldn't happen again. Given the obvious intention to undermine order in that act by federal agents, was the "screwed up" federal response to Katrina really a screw-up? Or was it intentional?

Think about what the bushistas are trying to bring about. From their point of view they're being quite effective.

Just like the terrorists, they only have to be successful once.

Doug, after seeing how the neo-cons have screwed up everything else they've had a hand in I would seriously doubt they could have planned 9/11 and pulled it off.

If they did then it must have been their ONLY successful operation.

Obviously it wasn't very successful now was it? For it to be successful, it would have to be believable. And fewer and fewer people by the day believe them, so ultimately this will backfire on them and will be judged to be a colossal blunder.

If 9/11 was the blunder that finally exposed the nakedness of the great harlot, it could hardly be considered a success.
