Hi Hawkmoon; Re: "Because do you really think the Lebanese Christians will be content to have their country turned into a puppet state for Syria and Iran?"

As far as I can tell, most of the Christians are more pissed at Israel than at Hezbollah.

Re: "It will take time, they will have to build their forces, but civil war is likely inevitable, or the Christians will find themselves facing a mass exodus from their homeland."

Funny that you would see civil war in Lebanon as inevitable when Iraq is the obvious place for it. A primary cause of war is when two peoples just can't quite agree on who is more powerful. Having recently suffered a nasty civil war, I don't see the Lebanese as getting ready to do it again.

Re: "And if Hizbullah is more heavily armed that the Lebanese army, what's to prevent Hizbullah from lauching future Katyusha attacks against Israel?"

Your naivete amazes me. The Lebanese army hasn't deployed into South Lebanon in order to disarm Hezbollah (except in your dreams). They're down there to defend Lebanon from the Israelis. Israel killed quite a few Lebanese soldiers in their bombing campaign. The concept that this same Lebanese army is now going to disarm Hezbollah is ridiculous.

Now all this is getting done under the terms of the cease fire. The Lebanese army will pretend that it doesn't see any Hezbollah weapons, and the Hezbollah will pretend that they don't have any. What will really happen is that Lebanon will treat Hezbollah as a sort of reserve force.

Re: "Because that is their vow.. to destroy Israel."

Do you think that by making this statement you're saying something that everyone else doesn't know?
