Let's make Lebanon an Israeli protectorate, with all the entrances and exits controlled by Israel.

Screw that.. That's the UN's job, or it's supposed to be..

But what may happen is we see the Israelis backing the Maronites, Sunnis, and Druze surreptiously, or even publicly, and running the militant Shi'a out of the country, while forming bonds with the moderate Shi'a.

It would be brutal, and it would set the stage for hostilities between Syria, Lebanon, and Israel, but I'm not sure many Arabs, if they confess what they believe deep down, are very happy about this rise of militant Shi'ism in Lebanon.
