I worked right next door to the projects in DC. The convenience store there was half liquor and half groceries. Plus they put out a buffet breakfast and lunch for carryout for the workers. Quite good, actually. Some of the prepared foods had an Asian twist. But otherwise the place fit the neighborhood, not the owners. They regularly had tofu. OTOH, do rags were prominently displayed. And they did a huge business in lottery tickets. I doubt they stocked anything from Asian distributors. I think they bought their buffet ingredients at the nearby Safeway. I saw them in there many times.
