In your link here, Greg Hunt (a Liberal) argues for the legality of the invasion (which I consider to be the only rational contention in this issue). International lawyers, as well as American lawyers, do not demonstrate unanimity on this point.

In any event the arguments of legality now give way to the argument of necessity and morality (two issues closely related). It was the right thing to do and (imo) a preemptive act of self defense.

Please don't argue the legal issue with me as I have read enough conflicting opinions from rational experts to convince me there is no firm conclusion not depending from personal bias.

What is "legal" is not always up to date as to what is necessary or right. This is common knowledge. So we agree. The detail of the ultimate international legality is merely a trifle. It was a matter of cautionary self defense--which is sufficient for me.
