You see. Bob Brinker is a public figure. He has a two bit radio show on weekends and hawks a newsletter. He sets himself up as an "expert" in a field that had no entry qualifications. He denigrates others in the field in an obvious attempt to make himself look good. He hides his true record to trick people into thinking he is right nearly always and has the very best crystal ball on the future. So it is quite easy for critics to see him as a charlatan. His pompous act when it comes to everyone more famous than he is well known. That would include politicians, government servants like Bernanke, fellow advisors like Abby Cohen, or "her Ladyship" as the pompous preamble to this thread points, to "empty suits" of politicians and even sports figures with enviable records like "Cal Ripkin" who Brinker with disdain said was a nobody. So it is easy to see that characterizing Brinker as a POMPOUS ass is quite warranted. I would also say the same is true of Bill O'Reilly and Don Imus, both of whom I occasionally listen to. But one's opinion of a public figure like Imus or O'Reilly or a pipsqueak like Brinker should not cause one to be less than civil to those having a different view. Though we all have likely been guilty of that, those who wear their zeal to protect the charlatan and pompous ass that Bob Brinker has shown himself to be seem to be particularly likely to lash out at others rather than refute their facts. Honey's ideas were not mutally exclusive--the fact that you feel an expression of candor about a public figure is not "civil" on a discussion board about him tells me I am correct.
