I ask again, what do you mean by international standards in trade?

My statement was not about "standards" but rather organizations like the WTO. If you look at the full context of my statements you will see that I wasn't even arguing against the WTO. I supported it as a way to reduce protectionism. I merely said that if no one was going to be protectionist, it would be unnecessary. Or in other words it isn't directly or inherently necessary for trade, it is rather just a useful tool to fight protectionism. Do you agree with that? If not why?
