Perhaps the very ability to recognize a bull market for what it is, and the persistence to ride it out, is what defines the 'knowledgable investors' at this point in the cycle. And it is true that multiple interpretations can be made from early stage drill results, it is also true that every major discovery has started with a handfull of encouraging drill results. There is a process to follow through, and at each stage of advancement a company could fail. For example I happen to believe that ECU Silver will go on to find a 10-million ounce discovery in their skarn deposit. I have the basis of a couple of very encouraging drill cores to form my opinion. But it is just that - an opinion. I will never state it as a fact that they have 10-million ounces. And I may be able to present a very strong case based on some early stage comparisons, but it remains an opinion until it is proven. So rational consideration along the way is prudent and necessary. I do not have a lot of time for those that are pounding the table about a 10-million ounce discovery when only a handfull of results are on hand. It could very well amount to that, but lets wait till we have some data before we declare it as a fact. To me it is no different from a marathon running passing the first mile marker, throwing up his hands in victory, and then demanding the trophy and the prize money. I think what defines the knowlegable is not just a sense of humility, but more to the point a thorough understanding of the stages of exploration, and the ability to remain focused to see that each level is successfully achieved before moving on to the next one. Little exploration successes and persistance to step out the first discovery holes is what defines the companies that reach the 'finish line'. cheers! COACH247
