That's exactly my opinion.

Though I'd reached it before when I realized a harmless, benign organization like the Boy Scouts was being attacked and demonized by the leftwing allies of the gay rights movement for not allowing a childless gay man to be a scout master.

I'm curious. Why is a backlash needed to a movement that has not achieved anything? It's not as if gay people are allowed to marry. They are safely discriminated against in almost every state. So why do we need a backlash right now? So they can be even more discriminated against? Or do we need a backlash against the fact that they protest the discrimination against them?

I could understand a backlash if gay marriage were now allowed- but the sanctity of heterosexuals marrying and divorcing is at the moment almost 100% protected. So what's the backlash a backlash against?
