Think Warsaw Ghetto. Israel will not let its security situation deteriorate to the level where Israel becomes the 21st century Warsaw Ghetto. Thats why they will use nukes to survive rather that wring their hands over how the world will see it.

It is a matter of tactics. Are the tactics being used helping or hurting? I posted at the being of this current mess, that I thought Israel's response was not the most useful strategy. As things stand now, I would say I called that pretty well. There are many here is thought that Israel's methods were exactly what was needed, or even stronger ones. You kind of fall in that camp, though not always. I just don't see that approach working.

If it was unclear at all to the Arabs after 3 years of Iraq, what methods to use against both the USA and Israel, it is certainly more clear after Lebanon. Pissy little Hezbullah did about as well against Israel as Saddam's vast Army did against the USA. Even worse, the Arab view of both the USA and Israel sank even lower. And don't bitch that the Arab view of Israel was already rock bottom. It was not. Think about those moderate Arab media and governments which early on condemned Hezbullah, then, after the Israeli response, coupled with the clear US mesage that a bit more war was a good thing, those same sources ducked for cover. Now we pull a Brownie while Hezbullah cleans up the mess. What a ****up!
