"Canadian Police often pick a suspect and then work towards convicting him or her, rather than reviewing the evidence and solving the crime...."

This is hardly unique to Canadian police! Just look at the number of "criminals" we've had released, many after YEARS of imprisonment or even facing the death penalty, due to DNA evidence. How many rot in jail NOW, with no DNA to prove they didn't do the crime? Police everywhere would like to catch the criminal, but will quickly settle for a chump that can't prove his innocence.
