Of course it was. 911 did not happen under Clinton, nor would it have happened had Gore been given the office he had legally won. 911 was enabled by an ignorant American president who dropped the vital task of peace keeping from the agenda of this country. A fool who was concerned with tax cutting to the exclusion of all else in his ascendency to the most powerful office on Earth. By turning his back on the events in the Middle East, while Sharon emerged as the butcher of the Palestinians, Bush might as well have blown up the WTC. (in the off chance he didn't actually do it) By abandoning the peace process that Clinton had maintained, while daily televised images of the awesome power of American planes, tanks, missiles operated by IDF surrogates, slaughtering Palestinian innocents, 911 was absolutely the result of Bush policies. Just as the same images from Lebanon will have their consequences, again thanks to the ignorant SOB from Texas.

The plan for 9-11 began under Roosevelt and Truman, when Palestine was partitioned. Near the end of the war FDR promised Saudi Arabia that we would not back the partition. Well we know how the US voted. It's been down hill ever since for middle east peace. Once you start to oppress another people, you'd better be prepared to continue that oppression. That's where we are now...in the continuation of it. It's not as simple as "they hate our freedom" or that they are "Islamo-Fascists". No it's a complex geopolitical religious conflict sitting atop the richest oil deposits in the world. I'd suggest that you not try to delve into the nuances of it all. Stick with your "sound bite" descriptions of the problem. They suit your level of thinking very well.
