"But at least I know how to spell "Neanderthal", unlike some people on this thread."

Hawk, I was watching a discovery special on future weapons last night. It was amazing to learn about laser weapons in production right now. The containment of bombing to the site of impact is an amazing advance in technology as well. I wonder how soon before lasers are knocking missiles from the sky.

Watched the bush press conference today and am very conflicted. One one hand, it doesnt take a rocket scientist to tell you that quick withdrawl from iraq will be a clear win for the terrorists--both al quaeda and the Iranian variety. But i also know that it is not a good thing to put american troops in harms way in a situation that strikes me as virtually hopeless at this time. If it is chinese water torture kind of hopeless, it still is a clear victory for iran and perhaps even al quaeda and/or the baathist who will be even more aggressive in trying to put the US in the middle of a full blown civil war.
Bush asked if anyone thinks we would have been better off with saddam in power. I dont know the answer but am beginning to believe it couldnt be much worse. Mike
