Hamas and and in particular the Hezbos are not crazy, just Shiites and thus the extended arm of Iran and all other "not crazy" who work on the new Caliphate and its blessings. Hezbollah was not the long arm of Iran until recently. In fact, Hezbollah's influence was waning. The Lebanese are as you said educated and modern people and for sure not (yet) Shiites but you bet that would change in a jiffy with the Shiites running everything by Their Book. Then why didn't the US, Israel and the West do everything it could to prop up Lebanon's gov't? Israel's best bet was making the Lebanon's gov't stronger; not destroying it by bombing the hell out of the country. Bush has got everything so twisted up that everyone is beginning to reflect his idiocy. One thing is clear.....Ehud Olmert is an idiot and needs to be replaced.
