It seems like the best way to work with these markets is to know WHAT variables to look for, without getting to fixated on any particular variable, so that you can synthesize new and relavant variables as they surface, while also seperating out what's white noise from what's a real determining factor. And what's 'white noise' can change.

That said, I find the seasonal chart for gold compelling.

I also own a tons of the physical, but I'm also presently long some gold futures I'm currently in drawdown for, a situation I'm not thrilled w/ at present.

It's funny about Chan--my impression is that he's right when he's right--but sometimes he's right for only a few days. Once tried to subscribe to his service but it was very annoying--wouldn't let me use a free email account, and they didn't respond to my queries about how to modify that. I don't want to pay for an email account just so I can read Chan--that's like upping the cost of his service!

"There are too many variables here to enable someone to take a strong position"

I don't know about that. MY TA indicator has been correct for the last 3 years and will, barring a coup in Washington, be right for the next two years at least. As long as these American hegemonialists

are in power then I STAY long ANYTHING that they hate and that includes gold, silver, metals, and cheap oil (they hate cheap oil) so going long is the best strategy.

You simply refuse to acknowledge my contentions that the USA is finished as the top world power. They simply do not matter anymore and cannot bring the world into a recession on their own unless they start WW3, which is a distinct possibility, in which case our strategy of holding physical will pay off for US.

BTW I don't know this Chan guy. Who is he that I need to know his opinions which are obviously wrong, not that he doesn't have a right to state them.
