The Seeger types loyalty was to the Soviet Union and international communism. They were willing to support the US war effort then because the US was in alliance with the communists against the fascist powers, but they didn't have loyalty to the US. This hasn't changed - our leftists still don't have a sense of identity with and loyalty to the US. Now if we could manipulate Cuba into WOT on our side .... leftists would support the US.
