Of course they are guesses because there has been NO INVESTIGATION that has uncovered the reasons behind the Bush administration's illegal activities. They are very rational guesses that are supported by facts. Now your guesses include: Either would result in the methods used getting out to the public, and thus to Al Qaeda. You don't know this as a fact. This is just rhetoric and propaganda from those indulging in illegal activities. Bush hasn't found OBL and doesn't even think about him nowadays. The incidents of terrorism have skyrocketed despite rendition, Gitmo, going around FISA and the like. The Bush administration has, yet again, messed up a British investigation for political purposes. Exactly WHAT causes you to trust these people? They were in charge during 911. They are in charge during Iraq. They are in charge during Afghanistan. If they can't handle things appropriately, they should, at the very least, stick to the letter of the law instead of saying they should get even more power to abuse and misuse.
