It makes sense to get a bomb (I would if I was Iran), but I think the primary goal is energy.

Without a doubt. Otherwise they wouldn't be risking sanctions over inspections, restrictions on enrichment etc, etc....

The major war in the region will be Iran-Israel. Everything else is a sideshow until the main event unfolds.
