tejek...I don't think anybody wants to stay in Iraq any longer than we have to.

The reason the Democrats aren't coming up with an alternative plan is that there ISN'T one. NOBODY knows what to do with this mess. It's hard to come up with an alternative plan when there isn't an ORIGINAL plan. The Democrats should start hitting Bush daily with the question.."WHAT'S the Administration's plan??????????

Its not hard to come up with an alternative plan. The alt. plan is to get your butt out. Iraq was a huge mistake but at least the US got rid of Saddam and leveled the playing field for the Iraqis. Now its up to them.

Bush has stopped worrying about what's good for the ME and the Iraqis, and instead is worried about how history will perceive him. Of course, its too late for that.........he's going down as the worst president in US history. That's why he should not have any more say on this issue.

If he answers, "just stay the course"..then they should say, "for how long"...and "what can we reasonably expect to accomplish".

Bull. You don't ask the weakest link what you should do. So why should the Dems ask Bush????

Bush is the guy that started this thing and HE should be the guy setting the parameters. When a guy runs himself and everybody else into quicksand he shouldn't be able to say, "Well, I got us in here, but you can't complain because you don't have any answers for getting us out".

Again, Bush needs to be taken out of the equation.
