Right now its a no no because of the T word.
What does israel have to lose? They will appear weak. Well after the war, they appear weak to many anyhow. Hizbolla will probably rebuff them anyway but that changes world wide public mis-perception of the issues which works to israels advantage. A peace offensive is called for if only to prove that the other side has no interest and the T word does apply.
