You clearly don't have a grasp of economics. Sometimes the barriers to entry on an industry is so high, you need gov't intervention to kick start an industry. Go back to college and relearn econ 101, then come back here to debate.

Right now, the government is subsidizing excess oil consumption. You drive an SUV, you get a larger subsidy than the person that drives a high MPG vehicle.

Does that make sense to you?
