We prefer the whites too, although when I smoked, I seemed to prefer some of the heavier punchier reds (I quit years ago).
We like Riesling but usually order a Pinot Grigio and sometimes buy Pouilly Fuisse by the bottle.

What about good Gewurtztramminer? That is my favorite white wine. Sobriety test--After three glasses you can't pronounce it correctly. (oops--it appears that you already mentioned the good Gewurtz....)
