I find the editing of old cartoons this way a little silly, I agree, but a lot of effort has gone into disabusing kids of smoking. There have been some terrific, creative TV spots. It would be a shame to waste that just to keep some old cartoons intact. I grew up with cartoon characters smoking but todays kids have never seen that. That's probably a good thing. Trimming a few cartoons, as you say, doesn't rise to the level of being objectionable. I can't get exercised over this issue. I was just trying to talk down those who were.
