I'm big time into ancient Greek history so there's tons of places I'd like to see. I've got to see the ruins at Knossos. Most of what Homer orated in the Iliad was thought to be fiction since among other things he described weapons that were not thought to be developed until much later. Until archeologists found the tomb of a Mycenean warrior buried with all his armor which included a figure 8 shield and a helmet that still had the impression of boars teeth lining the rim exactly the way Homer described. The Myceneans were very advanced even for the Greeks. Unfortunately the Mycenean culture was literally wiped out, most likely by a mega tsunami that originated when the island of Santorini erupted.
