Whats changed
QTD listings for eBay (7/1-8/20) total 336.3mn, up 40.1% yoy, faster than the QTD
growth of 39.9% last week. QTD domestic listings total 150.7mn, up 23.3% yoy with
an acceleration in both US auction/BIN (core) and store listings, up 12.5% yoy and
76.7% yoy, respectively. QTD international listings total 185.6mn, up 57.5% yoy
with international auction/BIN (core) and store QTD yoy growth rates of 46.6% and
223.5%. See Exhibit 1 for a comparison of each segments QTD growth rate vs. our
full quarter estimate. Listings for the week totaled 47.8mn, up 0.6% wow with US
listings up 16.3% wow due to the promotion for shifting store listings to core and
international listings down 10.1% wow following a promotion in the UK last
week.Segmented listings trends: QTD auction/BIN (core) listings account for 82% of
total listings versus our full quarter estimate of 80% with QTD yoy growth of 30.4%
versus our full-quarter estimate of 20.5% yoy growth and 22.0% in 2Q2006. Exhibit
2 provides a breakdown by geography and type of listing (auction/BIN (core) and
store listings) of the QTD yoy growth rates and our full quarter estimates.
