Having lived in Toronto, and spent much of my life viewing the border as a minor inconvenience, I can assure you that you should not insert your head rectally before you speak. There is nothing wrong with saying the city of Toronto is socialist, it is. and Americans going to Toronto to see plays and to stay provide a lot of tourist income for the city. And yes the city is desperate to get the Americans back into the city. Take a look at the border states and border provinces and the Hysteria about the decision to make everyone use a passport to go between the two countries. They are freaking out because it could be such a disaster.
