I guess you've done that for dead even money a lot lately, then?? i.e. rolled.

This doesn't seem like a bad approach, unless the ETF takes off -- then you get instant loss of intrinsic.

I like the idea of just buying some OTM puts every so often and let the winners pay for the expired ones -- <g> at least that's my theory and I'm sticking to it.

I see your point, though. If you really regard them as shorts and not tickets at the race track -- then positions are kept reasonable small -- because it's just a short.
