Seems to be a pattern - courts vs ballot box.

In Tom Delay's district, the Democrats have managed by well-timed judicial action to keep any Republican candidate from even appearing on the ballot this fall.

You'd think they'd be able to win when they can keep any opposing party candidate off the ballot but it isn't a sure thing. The Republicans seem to be uniting behind a write-in candidate.

Wouldn't it be the dardedst thing if they ran with no one else on the ballot and still lost? Time will tell how it turns out.

I'm on the other side of the Houston area from there. My brother and his wife live there (in Sugarland) but they're staunch Democrats so if they vote will likely support the Dem candidate.
