Bear Stearns goes from a downgrade in May to an upgrade in August. I've noticed this shorter trend of giving upgrades and downgrades lately. That's kind of iffy IMHO. Soon they will be doing it monthly. It sort of gives me a no credibility
feeling.

If you read his downgrade it is clear he was just having a tantrum. He had been the biggest supporter of satellite radio, and XM in particular, so when they came up with this FCC thing and the guidance cut, he was pissed.

I think he likely cooled off and realized he had gone a bit over the top -- hell, the circumstances today aren't that different than they were then.

I don't really trust any of them and wouldn't act anything any of them said; but as the analysts go, Peck knows the business better than any of them -- and he's not bought and paid for like some of the others.
