If you're ideologically predisposed to be offended by disparities in economic status, then it doesn't really matter if there's a good explanation for them.

That is probably true, but in this case you have an economist writing about why the disparities exist. He basically blames them on Republicans despite the fact that they increased under Democrats as well and the fact that there are a number of good non-political explanations.
