There is so much info on the population implosion that if anyone wants they can find it better then me.. I was first twigged to it in 1985 when I visited China (one child policy)on business and similarily Japan (highest elderly percentage in the world)..its real and like the Hubert's peak oil its only a matter of a few years..this person says it is going to happen before 2050..2035 and at a rate of 25% per generation thereafter

This one of the very best threads on SI and I follow a few out of interest in accessing good information!

I am not interested in debating points (lack of time and research skills) but only wish more inovations would be surfaced as its the way we will all live a better life in this world...we are in trouble with our wasteful lifestyles, and hubris and greed dominating our decisions..we need to adapt and quickly.

Ps: " But we didn't invade to get oil."
this whole thread has been on the 'balance beam' to long to really believe that..if there was no oil there your leaders would not have invaded...

You need to get out and see the world beyond SI. This is all starting to happen now. And agriculture is totally dependent on oil, as is the ability to move water around; like from the Ogallala Aquifer. Some headlines from the Energy Bulletin and the Oil Drum from the last few days...
(and don't count on the oceans for food, either)
