Interesting. He was certainly warranted in doing that. Imagine how the left would cry if we did that now.

FDR executed POW captured in the states with in weeks

I'm on your side, but I do have to correct this.

What you are thinking of is SPIES landed by U-boats on our shores. They were rounded up, given a trial, and even then only SOME were executed.

Many thousands of German POW's were shipped back to the States and Canada, where they were incarcerated under very humane conditions. They were accorded full Geneva treatment. If any were executed, it was only in conjunction with escape attempts, and even then I don't know if a single one was executed.

As to the Japanese-American internment, I personally support this fully, as a significant number had strong attachment to their homeland and emperor and posed a real threat to the airplane factories on the West coast. I do believe that in the IMPLEMENTATION of the relocation, some local officials took advantage of it to enrich themselves in an unjust way. If FDR could be criticized, it would only be in not giving proper oversight as to the details. However, he was slightly preoccupied with turning around a war we were losing.

I like your posts and just am setting the record straight about events I lived through.
