Israel survival depends on it's military though To put everything in perspective, back when Israel was founded soviet union offered it's support but Israel chose west. Israel defends western interest in the region and far more valuable than 2 bil / year. Compare that to annualized $135 bil for crude oil and overall trade deficit of 800+ bil. Also consider that some of the technology, that we use domestically and export as well, is developed in Israel. Things like conroe, adsl and vdsl, and such... How much Egypt is contributing to US economy or any other country as a matter of fact? US - Israel relationship is not a charity, as in a case of Egypt, but a mutually beneficial cooperation just my 2c
