So, I vote for a Hezbollah politician and Israel gets a free pass to kill me for it.

Let's frame this line of argument in a manner that actually represents the reality.

Voting for Hizbullah in a democratic election is the right of the people. Actually granting Hizbullah majority power, which does not swear loyalty to the democratic process, or the constitution upon which that democratic process is founded, would be unconstitutional since their very platform calls for the creation of an Islamic state.

But REALLY the point that Kumar seems to be trying to make is that the government of Lebanon is RESPONSIBLE for securing its borders and preserving its sovereignty.

Thus, by permitting Hizbullah to receive funding and arms from Syria and Iran, and doing nothing to prevent it, makes the Lebanese government an accessory to Hizbullah's aggression.

It's no different that if you permit a criminal to live under your roof, with full knowledge that they are receiving weapons from known criminals, and planning and perpetrating their crimes from your property.

The law is going to state you are an accessory to any crime that is planned and/or committed from your home.

You can try and assert that you were being held hostage by those criminals and were afraid to confront them, but the fact that you had every opportunity to complain to legal authorities, and request their assistance in apprehending them, really undermines your position.

And after the crime has been committed, it's really not a good idea to praise the criminals as preserving the sovereignty of your home from the retaliation by the victims of the crime you facilitated.
