RE: "Israel does not seem to have accomplished the desired result in Lebanon."

Even assuming that were true, which I think is open to debate, what makes you think Israel is done? Israel's favorite trick is to play, "Let's you and him fight.". They employ the tactic through false flag ops. The next obvious step if they run true to form is to send in Mossad under a false flag to attack UN and Labanon troops. Hezbolla ends up being drawn into civil war, the "buffer zone" gets pushed farther and farther back, and Israel starts setting up "settlements" to occupy the territory.

Peace in the Middle East is NOT a goal Israel is interested in. Israel has pulled too many dirty tricks on too many of its neighbors to be comfortable with the kind of stability necessary for their neighbors to become strong.

Think back to the hype just prior to the invasion of Iraq related to Iraq's development of a guided missile with a range of about 100 miles. What if Iraq had been allowed another 3 years of peace and oil revenue to fine tune the missile and maybe sell a few to Palestine or Lebanon?

Israel has lots of nukes, but nukes aren't much good for attacking positions along one's own boarders, not to mention that nuking oil fields isn't likely to make Israel very popular as far as world opinion is concerned.

An accurate missile with an extra 50 mile range would have been a rather handy thing for Hezbolla to have had in the recent conflict. I also seem to recall more than a few articles over the past few years about Iran's development of missile technology.

While we're at it, it might be worth noting that the "axis of evil" seems to be limited to countries working on better missiles, and which do not have Zionist puppet masters pulling the strings.
