Jim - Hey, what is new about air as a circulatory fluid in well drilling? Pneumatic hammers have been used down hole for years. Only issue is getting enough flow to lift the cuttings. Sometimes one can add foam to help in the lift.

IMHO? Your industry background is invaluable here. In particular, hope threadsters will direct their drilling and oil service questions to you. Can promise I'll have a few, from time to time.

What background I have is on the production side in mature, largely depleted, fields before I was active on SI.
