Many people have disappeared. They've been plucked off streets and put in prison and rendered to countries which specialize in torture supposedly unacceptable to the US of A and what we used to stand for.

Why are you so against human rights, individual liberties, accountability for those in power and oversight to prevent abuse?

Why?

The wiretapping caught whom? The incidents of terrorism are way up under Bush who presided over the worst incident ever. Bush has said that he doesn't even think about OBL any longer so exactly why would he care about wiretapping?

This statement is absurd:

Because to not do so is controversial.

If you do not think it's clearly unconstitutional then you should demand that it become CLEARLY CONSTITUTIONAL.

Re: Capturing enemies in a time of war doesn't make for a police state.

In a real police state you wouldn't have heard much about Padilla. He simply would have disappeared.

Two immutable truisms which liberals cannot seem to grasp.
