Yes, wasn't that 20 years ago or so? Approx. 20k$ as far as I recall. About then. One of my friends was born in the camp but could leave at age 3 months with his family when his father go a job at the East Coast. A shameful incident indeed. Very. I was doing my practicum in one social studies class where they had one of the people in the camps come speak to the class.......he's very old now but even though 50+ years have passed you can still hear the shame and anger in his voice. Can you imagine.......you are a decent human being holding down a job and family and you are rounded up because your ancestory is from a particular nation. The humiliation must have been staggering.
