I don't think we can expect much owning up from this administration, but the book, for those of us who tried to stop the war, is a tremendous vindication. And there are some heroes in it- like Zinni, and Scowcroft, and other folks who actually saw the "data" that Cheney alluded to, when he used the old "You haven't seen what we've seen" line.

Even I didn't realize how well containment was working, until I read the book. I didn't know about the bombing campaign that had almost toppled Saddam. I knew he was well enough contained, (far too well contained to make any WWII analogies anything but risible), but we really blew it by adopting the strange notion of preemption and taking the country to war. The waste of money is certainly monumental- as people predicted it would be.
