The 'phishing expeditions' and other methods used by the tricksters are not new and a lot of people got caught before publicity exposed the tricksters. Unfortunately many people still get conned.

Some experts have estimated there are as many as 150 million phishing e-mails sent over the Internet each day.

Look at the Nigeria 419 scam - it still reels in enough gullible people to make it worthwhile for the scamsters, in spite of all the publicity and warnings about it.
