abx.v - all i had was the common ... probably knew of the warrants, but don't recall .... and i can't take any credit for the pick either, it was completely on recommendation of an old broker ... i was underwater for a long time during the same period on a couple of my own picks, Wharf was probably one of them .... yes, abx was a shell that Munk et al took over, rolled Camflo into it, and proceeded with Meikle when others thought they were crazy, spending too much, there was a Northern Miner piece that made snide comments on this - there's an SIer named Enigma who worked for Camflo and then Barrick during this time, if memory serves

EC mentions Giant Mascot above, that was my first stock, 1965ish, got a four-bagger and a conviction of geniushood, lol ... it's still around sort of, the latest successor company is Campbell, cch.to, they're in reorg lately ... they had copper up the ying yang when the PoCu was doubling and better, they had a mine ready to work and the stock just sat there and did nothing, sold off a little even ... another old guy had noticed this and said kid, this is probably a smarter investment than all the booze and smokes and cars etc, so i punted, and that eventually made the previous problem much worse, lol

On blasting - in those very years of Barrick and Pegasus, early to mid eighties, i was working with and hanging out with a genius blaster .... he was locally famous for doing delicate work in basements etc, he had shot a stone staircase complete with railing in parts, solid rock, very nice work and little chipping required to finish ... he took out bits of rock for me, neat and clean and always exactly as planned, also didn't spray rock all over like some do ... he grew and smoked more dope than anybody i've ever seen or heard of, and never gave the appearance of it, you'd think he was a mormon with an holy book up his ass

cuu.v - yeah it did well, think it's my Big Fancy Deal for the week ... next week it will be another one, or two ... these are good times for us, cheap resources all over the place, sure they may get yet cheaper in the short run, or not, who cares, because one day ere long they will be dear
