So how do we city folks survive? Buy a small house with a sunny back yard on a street no one notices. If you have to heat it small is the way to go, at the northern end of the yard plant poplars they grow fast, and you can burn them in the fireplace. plant a couple of apple trees. I have a years supply of rice around, and I stockpile pasta and such when it is on sale. Mormons, I am told keep a years food in the house, I am not sure if it is true, but I keep enough to feed 4 people and my dog for 6 or 7 months. And I have enough seed for next years garden stored already.
