Saabs used to be as bad as Jaguars w.r.t. reliability. They improved over time (just like everything else did). I still think that they're overpriced for what they offer. I would go with a BMW long before a Slaab. Now Ford owns a big chunk of Saab (if not outright). That's why I'd bet a disproportionate amount of people own Slaabs in Detroit.

Lots of Subarus in VT because of the snow. I own a 2000 Outback, and I'm thoroughly disappointed. I have a friend who has a 2002 or 2003 Outback, and he's fed up with it. Then, Subaru, the company that markets itself as the enviro-NPR carmaker, raises the ground clearance of a car, so it can make a turbo and skirt the CAFE requirements. That was the final straw for me. Now I'm just counting down the days until that Hybrid Toyota Sienna comes out. I can even get AWD on it and imagine myself in Tahoe.
