along those lines: the Bush-Cheney administration had secretly given (Israel) them the "green light" to attack Hezbollah. That same highly respected newspaper also revealed that Washington gave signals that it wanted Israel to also attack Syria, which would have virtually guaranteed an enormous regional conflict. ...the failed bush policy redux got israel into hot water. To their credit, they pulled out quickly enough to avoid worldwide catastrophe. I guess its a wash, though, because they did the same stupid things - no planning, not enough troops, blah, blah.
