It is not being addressed because of biology and religion. Grace Z tells me that a human being is the ultimate economic unit - and in a capitalist world - the more humans - the cheaper you get your price of labor eh? So you are not just fighting religion and biology - you are fighting well entrenched economic models and theory too eh? Soylent Green is just a movie - quit getting so excited over CINEMA! That isn't real. I saw Mad Max, the Postman, Waterworld - very few people - but they all looked poor to me. Then I watched "Saturn 3" with kirk douglas and farah fawcett and saw how adding just 1 human too many fuggs up everything! I am sure John Nash and his game theory models come into play like a beautiful mind. Don't even get started on Logan's Run or Thx 1138 - who needs freedom when we can have great engineered societies. The borg wouldn't expand beyond their available resources would they? But yet us dumb humans will keep having babies beyond our ability to give them a nice standard of living. The planet of the apes doesn't need humans - let the monkees have all the resources eh?If we could cut world population by 90%, keep it there, and continue developing technology, resource wars might be a thing of the past... and perhaps everyone could have a decent living standard... and enough space to live in. Now Bill Gates and Buffet and Bono are going to the poorest of our citizens and giving them TB and Aids drugs and education so they don't die eh? I wonder what the romans thought 2000 years ago - if only we could kill off 90% of the mongrel hordes - how much better it would be for the glory of Rome! Why didn't the mongrel hordes see the logic in this? Blake's 7 guys just wanted to kill the engineered society - Gattaca movie showed how useless "love child" babies were - we need engineering in love and sex!Of course, that will not happen unless nature unleashes her own reduction mechanism. Well if kim jong launches a nuke, and iran, then pakistan, then india, israel, russia, france and USA - man gonna have caused lots of death and destruction eh? Might wipe out 99.9% and make that last bit of humanity have lots of resources - living in a cave for thier lifetime probably not gonna make them feel wealthy though - they might degrade to cave monkeys like in that movie "time machine" The pope tells steven hawking not to uncover the big bang and bush tells the stem cell guys UP YOURS while nancy reagan cries out for research and science when she isn't reading her star charts. Who are you to tell adam and eve they can't have all the babies they want? God gave them one ultimate commandment before all others in his first book - go forth and multiply! Noah's flood----Genesis 6 to 8 And so it was to be, that after the waters receded, Noah commanded all the animals to "Go forth and multiply." The ark quickly emptied, except for two small snakes, who stayed behind. When Noah asked them why, they replied, "We can't multiply. We're adders." Noah, being the resourceful man he was, immediately got busy cutting down trees and building a large table with the unfinished lumber therefrom. And he saw that it was good. The snakes were overjoyed when Noah picked them up and placed them on it. Noah and the snakes both knew that even adders could multiply on a log table. phrases.org.uk
