Thomas Jefferson would vote to impeach Bush ASAP.
If you read Jefferson, he made it very clear that the only ways to preserve a strong democracy are if:

- The people (through congress) oust any corrupt or inept leaders, including the president, who cannot be above the law.

- Congress exercises strong oversight of the executive branch.

- The judicial branch is independent and able to take on both congress and the executive branch.

- The press must be free, strong and unrestrained so as to have the power to alert the people to corruption and other dangers inside our government.

- Opinions differ but the truth wins, and the truth should be debated honestly, no propaganda, spin, cover-ups or evasion.

- Bi-partisanship and compromise is required. No one extreme can have its way. If it does, the whole system collapses.
