Made it this far...will teach me not to let up on the thread....hope to get to the rest tomorrow... BUT....what I have read so far invigorates..and saddens me. A few of those who have posted construct reasonable and logical arguments based on their underlying positions but in the bulk of the posts there is a mix of anger and resentment, the posts are discordant, stridulous, shrill (I am probably guilty of same in my early posts....was giving vent to views which need to be tempered by more reason and lucidity)and the result is a picture of how far apart we are. What needs to be done on this thread, if at all possible, is to come together on a few simple yet durable and powerful truths that have to do with this war, and how to win it.
