Although that article was mostly speculation, I thought this part was interesting:

"Since Apple first disclosed it was investigating options irregularities, its stock price is up almost 17 percent compared with less than 2 percent for the overall market."

Of course, the company did report blowout earnings during that time. And they announced that the Intel transition was complete, introducing higher-end computers that for the first time are actually substantially less expensive than comparable PCs. Those things are obviously having an effect on the stock price.
