I agree that it will be quite interesting how this plays out.

"... I don't understand why they don't do that and actually become the only providers of healthy drinks in the market. ..."

I am the last person to advocate consumption of colas as they are among the least healthy drinks around.

sfgate.com
"... Soda consumption has been clearly linked to increased broken bones, obesity and osteoporosis. A Harvard School of Public Health study found that physically active teenage girls who were soda drinkers were three times more likely to break bones than their teammates who shunned carbonated drinks. For cola drinkers, the risk was five times greater, according to the study (Archives of Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine, June 2000). For these girls, getting more exercise without cutting down on cola could be downright dangerous. ..."

However, this seems a rather self serving campaign not badly captured by this article:

I hope that the problem of soda consumption at schools gets covered in much more depth so that the problematic long term effects can be mitigated and in that sense I like this controversy.

Additionally, the more light is shed on the detrimental effects of pesticide use the better. At least Walmart and Costco are now getting into the organics business in a big way which must mean that more and more consumers are finally awakening to the risks and consequences of pesticides in our diet.
